Cardiff Bus has announced a £1.5m investment in 10 new vehicles to serve the Cardiff, Newport and Vale of Glamorgan region, equipped with Icomera Wi-Fi.
Free 4G Icomera Wi-Fi has already been available to passengers travelling on 220 Cardiff Bus vehicles since March 2015. This new investment reaffirms the operator’s ongoing commitment to provide a high-quality passenger experience, allowing customers to make the most of their journey.
The buses, made by Alexander Dennis Ltd, will also feature plush interiors, comfortable seating, USB charging points and CCTV. Cardiff Bus carries 100,000 passengers a day on 3000 journeys, covering 27,000 miles.
Managing director at Cardiff Bus, Cynthia Ogbonna said: “We are continuously looking for ways to improve our services and are looking forward to adding 10 new buses to our fleet. The new fleet will enhance the reliability of our service, which is the single most important factor that customers, and potential customers, take into account when deciding to use our services.”
