A major interior refurbishment programme is the latest investment project to be completed along Arriva Trains Wales’ Valleys network for the benefit of current and future passengers.
In response to customer and community feedback, 60 carriages on 17 routes have undergone a £500k revamp so travellers on the Valley lines can enjoy a more comfortable journey.
Passengers travelling right across the Valleys can also take advantage of newly installed free Icomera Wi-Fi on all of the renovated trains.
Simon Hughes, Engineering Director at Arriva Trains Wales said: “We are working hard to make sure our passengers can enjoy the very best experience while travelling on our trains, and this makeover is a great way to start off the new year.
“In order to sustain our commitment to provide high-quality service to customers, we have invested in refurbishing the carriages and hope that passengers using the network will notice a real difference to the facilities. We have also delivered free, fast and reliable Wi-Fi on trains across the Valley lines network to further modernise the trains and enhance passenger experience. This is a part of a wider programme of Wi-Fi rollout funded by the Welsh Government and Department for Transport.
“The finished project is definitely a positive step in the right direction towards responding to the needs of our customers and improving the overall customer experience of their journey, and we have already received plenty of positive feedback from customers.”
