Icomera recently joined a delegation of Swedish business leaders on a visit to Vietnam’s Ministry of Transport. The delegation was led by Erik Bromander, Sweden’s Vice Minister for Infrastructure.
Delegates discussed clean and innovative urban transport solutions, and Sweden’s leading public transport companies offered the benefits of their experience. Icomera’s Charles Lam, Sales Director of South-East Asia, joined representatives from Scania & Volvo, Gunnebo, Axis Communications, KapschTrafficCom and Wate4Fuel.
Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho said that the ministry would continue to work toward attracting foreign investors’ capital, advanced science and modern technology in order to develop a more robust transportation infrastructure and promote traffic safety in the nation.
Erik Bromander added, “Sweden has long been at the forefront of safe, environmentally friendly and efficient transport solutions. There also exists a long-standing relationship between Sweden and Vietnam and there is great potential to take this cooperation forward in the field of infrastructure and transportation”.
With a fast-growing middle-class and expanding economy, Vietnam’s accelerating rate of urbanization is causing a number of challenges. Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang are actively taking on these challenges. An efficient transport network would enable people to reach their destination in the shortest time possible.
