Icomera tackled the “Göteborgsvarvet” Half Marathon in Gothenburg, Sweden earlier this month. A total of 36 runners from the company’s offices across the world took part in the event on Saturday 18th May, conquering the 21km Half Marathon and the 4.3km “Gothenburg City Lap” races.
Founded in 1980, the Göteborgsvarvet is renowned as the world’s largest half marathon in the world, with over 60,000 runners having taken part in this year’s race and around 200,000 dedicated supporters to boost the runners’ morale as they dashed through the streets of Gothenburg.
For the Icomera teams, months of training paid off as they were brought together and posted some incredible personal bests, as they were spurred on by their friends, families, and colleagues.
Petra Hagensen, Icomera’s VP HR, said: “Icomera is extremely proud of everyone who participated in the Göteborgsvarvet and City Lap races, in addition to the supporters who came to help cheer them on. It’s been another great opportunity for our incredibly hard-working and motivated staff to collaborate internationally, promoting our core values of health and general wellbeing through team sports activities.
