Icomera is headlining as Gold Sponsor at this year’s BWCS Train Communication Systems conference in London. The conference, from 8-9th June, will include presentations from leading onboard connectivity providers, train operators and rail administrators from across the world.
The annual forum invites train operators to share their real-life stories of installing Wi-Fi onto trains, working to keep passengers happy and continually adding new services and increasing bandwidth. Lenetta McCampbell of Amtrak, the largest inter-city passenger rail operator in North America, will be speaking about the process of changing the Wi-Fi supplier of their flagship Acela Express fleet to Icomera. Deutsche Bahn will also present lessons learned from previous Wi-Fi projects on the ICE fleet, and the early benefits delivered by their new Icomera solution. In addition, Thalys, who have had Icomera onboard connectivity since 2015, will be speaking about their longer term strategy to stay ahead of customer demand.
Peter Kingsland of Icomera will be joined by Arriva’s Kevin Ives on Day Two of the event to speak about their collaborative work with mobile operator EE to improve the quality and coverage of the cellular network along the Chiltern mainline, and ongoing plans to roll out their industry-leading solutions to other areas of the Arriva network in due course.
