Rotterdamse Elektrische Tram (RET) has today launched its free passenger Wi-Fi service on the first metro trains and trams to be fitted with Icomera’s mobile Internet connectivity technology.
Icomera were awarded the contract to supply onboard Internet to RET’s fleet of trams and metro vehicles last October. Installation work began in December and all 258 vehicles in RET’s fleet (113 trams and 145 metro vehicles) will offer passenger Wi-Fi by the summer.
