The North America team just got stronger. Thomas Muleta has joined Icomera as Global Project Manager.
With nearly 30 years of experience, Thomas brings a wealth of telecommunications and information technology knowledge, much of it in support of the transit industry. Thomas is known for providing exceptional service and creating tangible value to public sector agencies. Thomas will provide leadership to our project management team, ensuring projects are managed and delivered to meet client expectations and agency goals.
Prior to joining Icomera, Thomas worked for Citadel Information Services, Inc., assigned to NJ Transit. During his four-year tenure serving as Program Manager, he contributed to the IT systems and applications for rail operations. Prior to his work with NJ Transit, Thomas served as a member of Meta/Facebook’s Interstellar Team and Trials & Testbeds Team where he developed financial analysis templates and business cases to connect rural communities throughout the world, utilizing high-throughput satellite (HTS) network solutions for low-income communities in both rural and urban areas.
For the rest of his career, Thomas served in an integrated communications consultant role specializing in telecom, IT, and broadcasting; leading teaming agreements; and pursuing partnership initiatives with leading design and engineering firms.
“Thomas has the knowledge and understanding of networking and wireless technologies as applied in multiple industries and sectors,” says Iain Reid, Director of Global Project Management. “His ability to structure, negotiate, and manage agreements with several equipment vendors and/or service providers will be an essential skill as he manages projects for our clients in US and Canada.”
“Bringing in a new hire with experience in project management signals a heightened focus on project delivery as the North America transit industry invests in new service and solution offerings,” said Gabriel J. Lopez-Bernal, President of Icomera US. “With his understanding of the implications of state of good repair mandates to the critical nature of configuration/asset management, and financial risk assessments, Thomas will be an asset to our organization and our clients.”
Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
“Icomera is a natural fit for me, as it is a company that combines my two professional passions – connectivity and transit. These are the sectors that I worked in for a majority of my career,” says Thomas Muleta, Project Manager at Icomera North America
Outside of work, Thomas enjoys traveling, especially with his family. For several years, his college-age daughter has had the goal of visiting all 50 states of the United States and she has managed to convince Thomas to make it their joint goal. Currently, she has visited 28 states. For those who are curious – Thomas has visited 42 states.
