First Glasgow have launched a new fleet of luxury buses linking Glasgow Airport to Glasgow city centre. With passenger numbers at the airport continuing to grow year on year, First Glasgow provides an essential service for local people and tourists.
Scotland’s largest bus operator has invested £2.1 million in 10 state-of-the-art vehicles and re-branded the service with bespoke eye-catching livery, featuring a new logo and purple interiors. Passenger numbers have increased by almost 30% since First Glasgow began operating the route in 2011, and this is set to continue.
To alleviate unnecessary travel stress, the new buses feature 4G Wi-Fi and USB charging points, allowing passengers to check the status of their ongoing journeys on their mobile devices, and contact friends and family. Onboard audio-visual display screens provide a tailored welcome video, next-stop information and announcements.
John McConnell, Head of Commercial at Glasgow Airport, said: “With air passenger numbers continuing to grow at Glasgow Airport, we welcome First Glasgow’s investment in the Glasgow Airport route and its commitment to encouraging more travellers to use the service. The sleek design and enhanced facilities offered by the Glasgow Airport Express will help to improve the air passenger experience and boost connectivity to Glasgow and the wider Central Belt region.”
