LONDON – 23/10/2018: Whoosh Media is delighted to join Icomera in delivering next generation Passenger Wi-Fi and a powerful Onboard Entertainment system directly to Southeastern passengers’ smart devices.
Amazon Prime Video will be providing Southeastern passengers with hours of Prime Originals that travellers can watch for free on their own device.
With Icomera and Whoosh Media’s award-winning Onboard Entertainment Portal, Southeastern passengers will be able to enjoy premium TV shows from Amazon Prime and UKTV, games, eBooks, audiobooks and magazines on their browser – with no need to download an app. Just log on and start watching!
Passengers will be able to access Amazon Prime Video shows such as The Grand Tour, Goliath, Bosch, Z: The Beginning of Everything and some of its most popular kids shows. Rakuten Kobo, which gives members access to more than 6 million ebooks and audiobooks, will make hundreds of their bestsellers available on the portal.
Diane Burke, Commercial Director for Southeastern said:
“We always aim to do more for our passengers and wanted to take our free Wi-Fi offer one step further when we began rolling it out earlier in the year.
“We know that people use their time spent travelling on our trains in different ways, whether that’s helping them prepare for work with the latest news or introducing a new box set into their evening viewing. We hope that Southeastern Motion will offer something for every passenger and make their journey more enjoyable.”
Edmund Caldecott, CEO of Whoosh Media said:
“We’re really proud to be a part of Southeastern Motion. Icomera and Whoosh Media’s completely integrated solution has proved again that a combined approach ensures a speedy delivery and gives our customers complete control of their cellular data, the customer experience and advertising revenue.”
Dave Palmer, Managing Director of Icomera UK, commented:
“We’re very pleased to be working with Whoosh Media to deliver entertainment to Southeastern’s passengers.
“Passenger Wi-Fi and passenger entertainment are complementary services. By hosting them both on our technology platform we are able to present these two services to the passenger through a single onboard portal, on their smartphone, tablet or laptop.”
Southeastern joins Whoosh Media’s stable of transport providers in the UK, Europe, the US and Canada that is scheduled to reach 1 billion passenger journeys by the beginning of 2019.
